I don't exactly know what's going on, but it seems like I'm having trouble with the keyboard on my laptop. Perhaps it's a hot key or shortcut issue, I don't really know. However, it's really annoying and I'm wondering if there is a way to fix this or turn those keys off. When I type, I never know exactly what's going to happen. Sometimes my cursor will jump to the middle of my work, inserting what I'm typing into the middle of the text. Other times, it will delete what I just typed. Sometimes, it will zoom in and out. Or, it may just skip off to another website, almost like I hit the back or forward browser. I've tried searching the manual for this, but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Any ideas on what's happening and if I can fix this? I'm usually pretty computer savy, but this is something I can't figure out and it's driving me nuts (not to mention costing me time).

It's your touchpad. I see this all the time. You hand is hitting the touchpad while you type and moving your cursor around and doing things like that. GO into your mouse/touchpad settings and look for an option to DISABLE TOUCHPAD WHEN TYPING.
or you can turn off the "touch to click" setting, which is what I do for my wife.

Agreed. My wife's laptop even has an area that you can double click on to disable the touch pad while typing.

Any suggestions on how to do this? I went to my mouse options, but didn't see where I could disable the touchpad while typing. The only option I seem to have it to disable it entirely.

Okay, after googling touch pad settings, I think I figured out how to adjust it on my model. Thank you so much for setting me in the right direction!

Mrs. Tek used to have a piece of cardboard cut from the back of a pad of paper that fits over it. Worked great.
