Windows 9, AKA Windows Blue

Redmond insiders have previously hinted that Microsoft may launch the next Windows iteration as soon as the next summer to offer it either as free or as a very affordable upgrade.

More rumors on the matter suggest that a new version of Windows has already reached the alpha development stage, so the launch could indeed take place next year.

One of the registered users of a Taiwanese forum claims he is already running Windows 9 alpha build 9622, indicating that the upcoming Windows refresh could stick to the Metro UI and the Start Screen introduced by Windows 8.

Should we start a new thread?

Windows 7 vs Windows 8 vs Windows 9?

This link is broken, so perhaps you could mention what this "updated start screen" would entail? Also, why would Microsoft not bring back the start button if that is the cause for some many people not liking the Win8? Or is Microsoft simply trying to make the Win8 user interface, the user interface of the future (since the future of PCs is becoming geared towards tablets and smartphones)?

Hey look, I apologize that the copy/paste got screwed up....

Outside of that take your sarcasm and MS love elsewhere. You have questions? Ask the author and Microsoft, I'm not their spokesman nor PR person....

Why you ask me when all I did was post an FYI, sorry I ruffled your MS feathers....

Thank you Bill.....

Put your pointer into the upper or lower right corner of the screen. This will call up the charms bar. The charms bar can also be activated by holding the Windows key on your keyboard and hitting C. On the charms bar, click settings, power.

Two other ways to shut down: The physical power button on your PC should do it if you hit it once. Don't hold it, just tap it. But depending on your computer's configuration, this could also hibernate or sleep the computer.

Or, click on the desktop, then hit ALT+F4. This will bring up the classic shutdown/restart dialog box that's been around for years.

What on earth does this angry rant have to do with what you quoted?

Where's this alleged sarcasm and "MS love" and ruffled feathers?

I highlighted the part that I believe he was referring to as sarcasm. I sort of took it that way too. lentzr seems to imply that plwhit somehow knew the link was broken when he posted it. Maybe he just chose the wrong words but it came across sort of sarcastic.
