Is it possible to connect 2 laptops via usb cord and exchange information?

It is possible you just need a special cable like these:

Data Transfer Cables, USB Data Transfer Cables at TigerDirect.com

You can also use an Ethernet cable, but it needs to be a crossover cable then you network the two PCs and use file sharing

i already have the 16ft usb cable, i just need to know if its possible and how to do it, i dont want any info on cat5 cables or anything else, just info on this usb connection and how it works.
