I saw on Best Buy a tower with 4 gb, memory, and 500 gb, hardrive. Does that sound good to you? The one I have now only has 1 gb, hardrive.

I need to know how much standard insurance I should put on it. They have three years for $80. Thank you,

Correction: The one I have now has only 1 gb of memory, and I do not know how much hardrive it has.

A link or the model number would help as the two specs you've mentioned mean nothing.

You mean this thing for $229, right?

Gateway SX Series Desktop 4GB Memory 500GB Hard Drive SX2185-UB37 - Best Buy

Well it's a slow desktop adequate for basic web surfing, email, light word processing but not much else. I sure as heck wouldn't buy any insurance protection on it -- especially at $80 (1/3 of its price!)

$80 for three years.... there is also another tower with keyboard and mouse with 6gb memory, and one tb of hard drive, for $500. What do you think of this one?

Well, there's a 1yr warranty so it's $80 for 2 years just-in-case.

What will you be using your PC for? What is your budget?

I will be using it for emails, some word-processing, and listening to music. My budget is mid-range.

A Gateway? Are you old enough to remember the EMachine? As its built by the same people. do not waste your money on it at any price. Are you looking based on its price or based in its small case size?

If its by case size look for a HP slimline.
