Yahoo has become incredibly user unfriendly and full off UI glitches, so much so that I abandoned Yahoo Mail for good.

I use Hotmail and Gmail, Yahoo mail is for those accounts that I don't care to move over because they either send just confirmation emails for orders like Amazon or registration requiring sites that likely to sell your e-mail to their affiliates and other 3rd parties (SPAM).

Thank you, Hazel. Is that report about the same bot that has been stealing passwords? Looks to me like it's a different problem??

I can't get your last quote but answer is we think it's all the same one. I asked the friend who sent it to me - she's much smarter than I - and she also thinks it's all the same story.

Ok. I'll have to look at that again.

Oh dear. Same problem as two days ago when Charter was down. Now they are saying there is no problem with Charter. They changed my account but it still does not work. They changed the password on both Charter and, when it didn't work there, on Thunderbird. I do not think they should have changed Thunderbird but what do I know?

Both keep saying "incoming server already exists". Of course it does. We didn't change that. But that is its reason for not working.

I can still use Gmail and I can still go online. Only Charter's mail service will not work. Other than that post from Florida, is anyone else having similar problems?

I am going to try to change the address here to Gmail but, if I cannot, I'll just keep checking in tomorrow.

Thanks for listening.

It sounds like many of us are having the same or similar problems. I asked the person at Charter what happened the other day but she says she does not know. If servers don't fill us in, we have more trouble trying to figure it out. Years ago, I had Mind Spring. Anyone remember it? They always told us exactly what had gone wrong and what to do about it. Now we are on our own.

Tomorrow I shall call the man who works on my computer and see if he can fix it but I still think the problem is "out there".

I wanted to do an "on command" total virus scan. I looked at ESET's Help but didn't find where to start that. Found where to start the Quick Scan but that's only the quick one. I want a total one.

Sorry. I am whining. Think I'll go to rest a bit. Good luck everybody.

It's hard to say if the problems are from a virus or trojan collected from the wild or if it's your local service.

If I were you, I would keep after Charter to help you figure it out. Good luck. Mine seems to have settled down, but I am continuing to be wary and aware.
