I've never needed a VPN to hide my IP address, because I don't do illegal torrenting of movies or music in America. I know the record and movie industry gets tough on that sueing people that do that. The rare times I tried some movies, I hope Peerblock protected me.

But if I live in the Philippines for 8 months at a time, my Scottrade Investment Account would get locked if I access them from an IP address outside of America. SO that's when I need a VPN to keep using my Scottrade account. Anyone have success doing such things that need a VPN? How does internet access work and start when you bootup and need the VPN to hide you? Is then all of your internet access IP address spoofed?

Download the free version of Free VPN Service | Free VPN Software - Hotspot Shield VPN that will take care of you.

Yes, and it all runs through the VPN. Personally, if it's an investment account, I'd make sure you know who you are going through, and only run what you absolutely need to through the VPN.

I use a VPN religiously, whenever I'm on the internet. The only time I run without one is if the VPN connection accidentally drops and I don't notice it. One thing I'd caution you about is that some sites will block access from known VPN IPs, so it might actually make it even more difficult to connect with your Scottrade account. You might want to check with Scottrade to see.

Another point to this, is that you'll want to use a US based VPN since you want to access US based services.

I should have bookmarked the VPN but there was one in 65 countries. They had many cities in the USA too. So I would fake my US address for many things as my brother's house, then I would live in the Philippines until the economy got better.

Or maybe I should retire in the Philippines and make money doing remote and freelance work, and try to write ebooks for amazon kindle. Try anything internet to make money, except for porn.

If you just need to access scottrade and other sites, use Anonymous Proxy | CyberGhost VPN

You can choose a US server to fake being in the US.

Don't use VPNs to download content illegal. It's still illegal and people worked hard to make that content.

I'm sure you can find someone that wants to be the Man in the Middle and proxies all of your financial information for free.

Have you actually talked to someone at Scottrade?

Yeah, I went to a Scottrade Broker and he said I need a US home address. I can't have an account if I live in the Philippines. He said if they found out I'm accessing from the Philippines my account could get locked.

I think I would use this VPN service: VPN Service - Encrypt your internet connection - Hide My Ass! Pro VPN
