I'm finally making the transition now, and like all transitions it's gruesome. I have a lot of communications, a lot of records, and a lot of programs to reconfigure.

But I'm sure that the reason that people are so reticent to update to Windows 7 is that all the screens look like they were designed by the people who make those dark, dramatic Unicorn paintings.

Yea, I don't think the "garish screens" are the reason some people aren't upgrading...
7 is BEAUTIFUL, in my opinion, compared to XP.

I'm on windows 7 now, and I will agree, it is more beautiful than XP, and A LOT more beautiful than 8/8.1.

I think a lot of people stick with XP because they just don't feel like upgrading. The only reason we replaced our 8 year old computer running XP two years ago is because the thing just stopped working. If it still worked we would probably still be using it.

XP is slowly becoming obsolete, very slowly.....

as long as wifi hardware on old windows laptops remain comptabile with base stations i am pretty sure many peoeple will continue to use it.

most people just use thier laptop to browse the internet and unload some photos off their camera and frankly many of those things have not changed in the past ten years.
