With Windows 10 in development and looking a lot more like a combination of the Windows 7 and Windows 8 UI, should Microsoft bring back and reintroduce Aero, in Windows 10? Aero was one of the things that I loved about Windows 7, and the Windows 8 UI was plain just not as much fun, without it...

I've always hated Aero. It looks cheap and it's quite distracting. If it comes back as an option fine, but I prefer a flatter look that stays out of my way, although I can see how 8 might have taken flat too far.
I still wish Microsoft had shipped the Whistler look at some point.

I searched online for some of the sample screenshots of Whistler, and I agree that quite a few of them looked really nice; you're right it's really too bad that modern-day Windows didn't make use of them Interestingly enough, I thought that some of them even looked nicer than the XP Luna theme... Tbh, I never liked Luna...Windows 2000 was the last UI that I truly liked, at least before the UI look-and-feel that debuted in Windows Vista and then continued, with Windows 7.
MS took a "my way or the highway" attitude with Windows 8. Want Aero? Too bad. Hate those tiles? Suck it up. Want the traditional Start menu? Screw u.
I hope they bring choice back with Windows 10 and let users be in control of their desktops.
Since we're apparently already getting the Start Menu back in Windows 10, one can always still hope that Aero may make a reappearance, as well? I thought the only reason they removed it was in the interest in promoting the new Windows 8 Modern/Metro look...so if Metro is still there but taking a backseat in Windows 10, why doesn't MS take a page out of the tried-and-true (and successful) Win 7 pagebook, and bring back the visual awesomeness of Aero?
Microsoft made a few critical mistakes with Windows 8. Many of which were fixed with Windows 8.1 . Windows 8 and 8.1 kept the interactions introduced with Aero, and I'd imagine Windows 10 would do the same. I don't think they'll go back to the Aero glass theme, however.
