I have not yet installed the software and want to verify system compatibilities before voiding any warranties on software.

Can I install Photoshop Elements 6 onto a new pc Gateway GM5483E that is operating with Vista, Pentium D Processor 925, each core is operating at 3.0 ghz ?

The Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 states system requirements are Pentium 4, Pentium M 1.3 GHz with XP or Vista.

Are these compatible?

Help keep me out of trouble before I install something that won’t run properly. Thanks in advance for your help.

Funny thing ~ Both Gateway and Adobe can't give me a yes or no answer on my question, they refer me to the other party.

Adobe - Adobe Photoshop Elements for Windows: System requirements

Adobe only shows XP but what little I read on the forum looked OK.

Thanks Tek for the links and the info. I found some of the same information earlier but became confused not so much with XP or Vista, but with the Pentium D processor 925 in the new pc and the software saying it had to be Pentium 4, Pentium M, etc.

Adobe tech support didn’t provide an answer and said to check with the manufacture of the PC, and Gateway said they don’t have an issue to check with the software provider. Catch 22!.. I just don’t want to attempt an install and find that the warranty on the software is void and then have the pc also into some trouble.

Again,,, thanks for the links.

Pentium D came after 4 so you're good to go.

Long story short, you're good to go. Make sure you have the vista install of adobe though (if it exists)

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the help. I could read the requirements on the box and on the pc but couldn’t figure out which was a high version and if I’d have a problem.
