I have a late 2007 MacBook (one of the ones they made only in black or white). I used it only sporadically, usually using my work computer. I also never updated the OS. But there are a lot of photos on the MacBook that I'd like to move to a disk because they're of my first dog. I have a MacBook Air now. What are the odds that they'd be able to be moved to the MacBook Air? (I'll also have to get a new battery for the MacBook, but I've sourced that online.)
[When I bought the Air, I planned to take advantage of Apple's service of transferring files, but I had a miserable experience at the Apple Store. It was jammed with people updating their phones, and I had to wait a ridiculous amount of time just to get in my hands the laptop I already paid for. The rep I finally grabbed didn't ask if I wanted anything transferred, so that slipped my mind to ask.]

Start up the Migration Assistant if you want to move your accounts and everything over.
If you want just the photos, you could dump them all onto a flash drive or into Dropbox or something.
