Win 10 update during the night, everything is back to factory setting. It wiped out everything, except, at least, my MS password on the administrator account.
User names with local accounts show up but passwords are no good.
Now there is no restore point either.
I'm guessing just removing the updates isn't going to do me any good?
I hate Win 10!!
This is baffling. Some programs that I'd installed got wiped out but some DL'd programs, like Malwarebytes and Open Office are still there .
I.E. is gone but Chrome isn't.
Original programs that I had uninstalled are back again.
I have at least, learned why F8 wouldn't open Safe Mode.
Is it too early to start drinking?

Don't agree to the Microsoft Agreement, and it will back off the update. Have a Bloody Mary.

2 Bloody Marys...it's too late.
To clarify for anyone else that might find it helpful, are you saying one can proceed without agreeing and that the automatic updates won't happen?
(Although, even if I chose when to do so, this same thing may have occurred)
IE is not gone. It's just been removed from your task bar. GO to the new Search circle (really? We thought we should remove the Magnifying glass???). Start typing INTERNE... it should show up. Right click, pin to task bar.

When you first powered on, and saw that it had updated, did you click YES to the user agreement? If not, power down and power up again, and click NO. It should start unraveling what it did.
User agreement does not show up on restart or reboot.
Thanks for the I.E. tip...it is still ''here'' but in a pristine state. All settings ,opening page, favorites, etc are gone.
Avast is one thing that appears to be working properly.
Well, if it makes you feel any better, I made the same mistake, that's how I knew that about rolling back the update. But then I went ahead and just bit the bullet. I hated it at first, but now I'm okay with it. But I don't use any older software.
