Walter I have an odd, possibly deemed to be insulting, question.

It's not meant to be.

Are the low memory warnings RAM related or is your hard drive close to full?

I ask because of all the years I spent consulting and the number of times clients had those two confused.

Open My Computer and right-click on the drive C: icon. Click Properties.

Or ignore this post if you are sure it's RAM and mumble at the jerk under your breath.

Low Memory errors are generally related to Virtual Memory, and not directly to the amount of RAM installed.

I'd be willing to bet that increasing the virtual memory file size will help (more RAM will help by having to use the swap file, but you can't hurt by increasing the swap file size).

SolidWorks for example show low memory massage when swap file more 4Gb even, but its application warning, no system.
