Very interesting book........ A Ladybird book first published in 1971 and revised in 79...... The site shows the pages from both versions so you can compare the changes in diagrams and technology between 71 and 79.

Some pictures didnt render but I discovered if I clicked the box with the X on those ones, the picture then loaded.........

The working of computers can be divided into 4 parts:

1.Input: Input devices like mouse, keyboard used for getting information into your computer.
2.Storage: Computer stores all the information and data on a hard disk that you have entered.
3.Processing: Next step is processing your information. Central processing unit is a microchip which is used to proceed the information.
4.Output: It display the result on monitor and LCD.

If you want to get "technical" - a processing unit can only do three things : [] add [] shift [] negate.
Everything is derived from those three.

Don't forget the burning of incense, sacrificing cold pizza and warm Jolt Cola.
(And several Dilbert cartoons stuck to the case with crinkled post-it notes).

Such is necessary for the proper functioning of a computer.
