I recently bought a chromebook but haven't opened it yet as im not sure if i want to keep it or not. I basically bought this laptop as a separate laptop where i do streaming tv shows/movies and yes stream adult videos and download videos from sites. Im not sure if the p word is allowed here or not so i use the term adult videos. First off, i know chromebook is for people who want to spend less on a computer and/or because they don't need a windows computer.

My chromebook has 1920x1080 display and 4gb ram and 32gb space etc. The thing is its mainly for

1. Streaming porn
2. Downloading porn
3. Streaming sports
4. Streaming tv
5. Streaming movies
6. Web browse anonymously

The reason why i got another computer is because my main computer, i do all my financial information and everything on it. I use to stream porn and tv/sports on it but then i thought this is not safe in case i get a virus on my computer. Thus i want a separate computer where in case i get a virus, well i dont mind. I could just clean reinstall it. I do not have an extra computer on hand to do this as those laptops broke and i wanted to get a cheap laptop mainly for my purpose. Now what i want to know is

1. Is chromebook great for this situation?

2. I would be connecting an external/internal hard drive or usb flash stick for more space as 32gb is very little. That is what most ppl do with chromebooks right?

3. Im not sure if its allowed to post it or not. If not, you can remove my sentence here. But im sure lot of ppl stream through sites where you could watch free cable tv or movies or sports etc. I know there is netflix, hulu and paid services like that. But the things that i want to watch are live and netflix and hulu are for shows that are already shown etc. Also i like to watch sports as well and well even if you have cable tv, you are not going to get those channels etc. Also i do not want these things a lot. I might watch it a few times a week or none at all. The thing is i read when you first set up chromebook, you have to put your google account login. First off, if you do this, wouldn't that mean it would connect to you anything you do on chromebook or not? Because obviously people stream porn from those main popular sites. I even heard they call these porn books etc.

But if you download videos from sites where ppl post them like a popular adult forum, is that still fine? Windows computer i know there is no issue with it. But if its connected to your google account, any issue? And before someone says why don't you pay for a subscription, well certain sites have maybe 1 or 2 videos i want. So imagine having to pay 10 or 20 dollars per site just to watch the video. And these videos could be 10 minutes etc. Then i would mostly delete the video or not watch it anymore.

Thanks.

Virtual machines ;-)

Install VirtualBox or something similar, and Ubuntu in a VM. Take a snapshot. Use that to browse away. It's unlikely to be affected by any virus you might encounter, but if it does, delete it and restore from the snapshot.

hi there yes i heard of virtual machine but i dont want to do that on my main pc. Thats why i want another laptop.

Well the other thing is even if i dont stream porn or download porn, i want a computer to stream sports, tv and movies etc. But i wouldn't use it that much. Also lot of of forums im not talking about porn forums might not be safe so i rather be using another computer on it etc.

How do you make a new dummy google account? They require you to put in a cell number so wouldn't that be an issue then? Thus to stay private?

Do not use a Chromebook for this. There isn't much of a hard drive on a Chromebook as you are expected to store everything in Google's cloud.

I would not take Oelyver advice about making fake gmail accounts. Losing respect for her more with every post. No offense.
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL <--- what is that?

No adult needs a separate laptop for his porn habit. Unless he's sharing it with someone.

Hi there. I know there isn't much space on chromebook but the thing is i do have an internal hard drive with enclosure that i never used. Thus thats what i would use. I know a limitation would be if you download programs where it requires windows. Or if you play games. But i do not play games. So it would mainly be streaming/downloading and web browsing.

Well the thing is my main laptop has financial information on it. Thus even if i don't watch porn or stream porn or download porn, i wanted a separate laptop if i wanted to stream some sports or some tv show on those sites etc.

Oh you have the storage, then go for it. That's really the only major limitation. The Chromebook will be a bit safer too as no one is writing viruses for Chromebook.

Hi there. I did not know that you had to log into chromebook with a google account at setup. I bought chromebook because it was to stream/download and web browse. What i heard was you can't download many window programs so i figure no big deal etc. I didn't know you had to log into chromebook with your google account? I thought it was using chrome mostly which i am etc.

Yahoo actually does not allow you do to that now. Back then i could create many email without phone number.... now they do.

I said whenever you create a new google account, they require a phone number. I said back then, they did not. So my google accounts that i have, i believe those never required me to put a phone number in it.

Yes so i want to set up a new google account but would just prefer to make a dummy account. But they do not allow me to do this on my laptop. If you go to gmail and try to create an account, it will ask you for a phone number. Thus i want to create an account on my regular laptop at the moment, then create the account. Then start the chromebook and when it ask me for my google information, i type in the new one that i created which would not be linked to any email or any phone number etc.

So could you create another google account without phone verification on your smartphone now? And if so, you have android? I have an iphone. I tried to create a new account on iphone in gmail and it does require phone number etc.
