Agree. My wife has an old MacBook Air, and its battery is fine. I had 2010 MacBook Pro that I killed about 10 years later when spilling water on the keyboard, and the battery was still working fine until it died. Well, "it didn't die like dead," just that the keyboard was shot (could not be used) so I didn't want the repairing trouble of a laptop that was already so old.
But as far as I know (you can correct me if I am wrong) in recent years new laptops manage the state of charge of the battery to extend its life span. In this case the battery is charged only when it needs charging.
