I have a Dell with Windows 11. I have the cheapest printer available - a Canon wired Pixma MG2522, bought last year. I have always bought these because they do everything I need to do, and when for some reason they go bad, I just toss them and get a new one. So this one was bought last year.
Maybe it has something to do with the driver I installed, since laptops these days don't come with a CD slot unless you buy them, so I didn't use the disc that came with the printer. (In fact I think, if I recall correctly, there was no disc enclosed with this one) The printer will print JPEGs (pictures) but I cannot get it to print PDFs. I know it must have something to do with the settings (I hope) but can't for the life of me figure it out. I have tried saving a document from online in "All files" instead of what it came with, but that didn't work. I am using Edge whereas I always used to use Chrome, could that possibly have something to do with my problems? I would think not but I am really not very techy, but always used to fumble around and get something to work.
I can print things I have created on Libra Office. The particular document I downloaded (a transit schedule) and am trying to print says it is a PDFdocument.
Thanks. Before installing the Canon program, I decided to make sure I had Adobe Reader on the computer (probably didn't since it is a new laptop).
I saw two choices: the only difference being one said 64 bit. Which one should I install?
If you are downloading/installing from www.adobe.com (scroll to the bottom - see attached screenshot), it will automatically download the correct version for your OS.
I actually wanted to ask this; what exactly happens when you try to print the PDFdocument that you have open on the screen, error message or nothing?
Does the PDFdocument have images in it and also what is the size of the file?
PS. MS Edge is a basic PDF viewer with no additional print options. Adobe Acrobat Reader would be much better.
My personal preference would be SumatraPDF; fast and light with no Adobe bloatware.

What actually happens is nothing. The printer just sits there, doesn't say anything, doesn't do anything. When I'm printing jpeg things it acts normally.
The PDF I'm trying to print isn't very large, two or three route timetables, a couple of pages of info, 4 pages in total. Not long at all. But I've tried several other PDF's in my library of stuff, all of which I've printed before on previous Canon printers. None of them work.
Either one. The 64-bit will probably run a bit quicker, so that's what I choose.
Thanks!
