I appear to be in a concentric circle of Gmail hell.
Set up a 2nd gmail account a long while ago in my legal name but I can't remember the password I set for it. I'm trying to link my two accounts so I have two inboxes. would like to slowly transition to the new account name.
Gmail (or Google) wants to send a password reset link to the 2nd account but (back in the circle) I cannot access that account to get it. And I cannot get a text message with a security code to do this because it looks like they don't have the correct phone #.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm surfing around in my account settings but am honestly not the tech-savviest. I've tried what look like the obvious actions.

No, I have the prompt. I just don't remember what PW I selected for the 2nd account and when I ask for a reset, they are telling me the link for a reset was sent to the 2nd email which I can't access because I don't remember what PW I selected.

I'm trying to set up two emails (I have the 2nd email address already). I want to phase out the one with my 'nickname.'

If you tied them to each other, and don't know how to get into either one, I doubt you'll get into either. Might as well contact customer support.

Basically - you have two accounts. Account 1 (nickname) and Account 2 (legal name). You can't access account 2 because you basically used itself as the recovery account? I didn't even think that was possible.

If Account 1 is currently your primary. Why not just create a new account (account 3) and just forget about account 2? If you haven't accessed it in that long... do you even need to access it?
