I gave an old coworker a machine running 95. After several dozen calls saying " I can't do _____ and _____" I took it back. Wasn't worth the hassle.

I just installed win95c in under 10 minutes until it crashed.. after install to a IOS error.. I suggest since Virtual PC 2007 shows that it only supports win98/winme you start there.. otherwise you might want to check out vmware or find some resolution for the issue..

Don’t forget to fdisk..

I seem to remember encountering such an error when trying to run Win95 on newer processors. I think I had to jumper the motherboard to run at something slow like 100MHz to get to run long enough to install a patch. I'm not sure if virtual machine software can be configured run the virtual CPU slow enough for Win95.

I suspect vmware can.. I also suspect with a little troubleshooting.. can get it working.. I just don't need to run win95c that badly..

To do either, I'll need to install an old version of Windows on there (but newer than 3.11, which is installed on there already)...and I chose Win95.

4mb of RAM, upgradeable to 64mb (probably will drop my 32MB stick in there if it accepts the 168-pin DIMM form factor)

My only hope is that the many years of being stored in the garage didn't ruin it, because of the temperature changes. I don't even know if I CAN get it back, but I plan to use it if I do, and if it still works.

(If you're wondering about the fonts, I wanted to be different, heh)
I'd have to agree that it's not even worth pulling out of storage. Only if you want to run win3.1 and Netscape 2.x which will run fine on it. But then you don't even have a nic in it. I'm sure you can find an old 3COM nic that will work but you could probably find someone who is giving away an old Pentium 60 or something that will run win98 fine (slow but it will work). A 486sx, my phone has more horespower than that .
