I finally got my computer up and running, with Win7. Earlier there was some concern that I might screw things up with Mint, but according to this, it looks like a snap from what I've read.

The only thing I have to do now besides get the Mint set up (by the way, I decided to be a bit adventurous and try the 64 bit version despite what I had heard about it was a bit unstable). I'd like to work with it and see if I can make it stable. I do understand the 32 bit version can work with a 64 bit system.

And on top of that, getting router security set up. Unfortunately, I've misplaced the instructions for that, though I do have Internet set up and running. I'm sure I'm broadcasting all over the neighborhood. Wife understandably wants it fixed by the end of the week.
