Hello All,

I have a job opportunity at UCONN in Storrs and will need to relocate my family from New Jersey (currently near the Princeton area). I have two kids (ages 4 & 11) so would like to find areas close to Storrs that are family friendly (good schools, low crime, etc). Any help finding these areas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

So you know, Storrs is a pretty rural area especially when compared to Princeton. There is no town center there really and the nearest one is about 30 minutes away. That said the area is beautiful and has a lot to offer as long as you like quiet. Storrs is located in the Town of Mansfield which is nice and has decent schools. If you give us more information on what type of town you would want, how much you want to spend and what you expect to get for your money, we can help you further. Jay

I would look in Mansfield itself or possibly nearly Tolland. More info on your price and what you are looking for as JayCT indicated would be helpful...

Might be a bit of a drive, but if you can afford Princeton, I'd assume you can afford Glastonbury. It's a very nice town with great schools.

I'd look east of Vernon for ease of commute. Mansfield is great as is Tolland and I'll throw Willington into the ring as well. Three lovely, quiet towns with good schools and easy commutes. Good luck in your search and welcome to CT!
