Does anybody know what the commute's like when you hit New Haven during morning/evening rush hour? Specifically going through that change from I-91 to I-95 (southeastbound in the morning, northwestbound in the evening). My job offers flextime (can come in as late as 11am, leave as early as 3pm, as long as I work a full 8-hours) and I'm trying to figure out it if would be worth it to go in earlier, later, or just do the average 8:30-5pm gig. Thanks!

It's not pleasant for sure. Traffic, on going construction, more traffic and more construction. If I had to do it, I would go in as early as I could and get through that bottleneck before 3-3:30 PM in the afternoon.

I am confused by your direction of travel. I-95 northbound is generally traveling eastbound into New Haven while I-95 southbound is generally traveling westbound. I-95 northbound (coming from West Haven) has issues during normal peak times starting at around 7:30 and ending around 9:00. In talking to people that work in New Haven and live east of New Haven (East Haven, Branford, Guilford, Madison, etc.) I understand that I-95 southbound is not that bad in the morning since ConnDOT added lanes east of the Q Bridge. Still peak hours of travel would be similar. Jay
