I should but I don't. My father was friends with Joe Miro, the owner, but Joe died years ago and his kids were not interested in maintaining the store. They made more money converting the old vegetable stand into regular stores. The son (Joe Jr.) had opened a pizza place. Not sure what their daughter Barbara is doing. Each year Joe's wife, Barbara, posts a memorial in the Connecticut Post for his birthday and his death (both are toward the beginning of the year if I remember correctly). He was a good man. Jay

(I like to give some representation to New Haven county on this site. Fairfield and Hartford seem to own 85% of it.)

The building is still there; became a Friendly, now a bank. I think of Farm Shop when I pass it.

Wow! Service Merchandise! I'd almost forgotten about that store. What a terrible concept they had...go into store, shop around and 'get ticket' for the item you wanted to purchase. Go to checkout & pay for said item. Wait.THEN go to the 'pick up' area and get item. Wait. Then get the item checked & confirmed before you left the store. Honestly, could there be any more difficult way of shopping??!?

Is that the store where you shopped around the store and created and "order" and boxes were delivered to you after you paid, but before you left the store?
