Yes, I meant Northwest corner

Amazing though the number of sightings in Avon and Farmington. Either there are a lot of bears there or a few bears making themselves well know by really moving into and staying in suburban backyards.

LMAO...Reminded me of a scene with Anthony Hopkins in the movie "The Edge".. He went downstairs in the cabin he was at in the middle of the night to snack and there was a Bear in the Kitchen. I think the bear ran off through the sliding doors that were left open. I gotta see that movie again. Great movie.

Theres definately bears in or around Stamford. I lived in New Caanan awhile back, 15+ years ago & people were seeing them then. They can and likely do enter CT thru Stamford on ocasion. Of course I'm not talking about the south end here.

I live in Thomaston. I'm in the downtown area, so there really aren't any woods around. Last summer my son started shouting for me when I was in the shower. I rushed out to see what was the matter. A black bear was walking through our backyard!

I'd put my money on it being because of all the rich idle wives being at home during the daylight hours to actually have the sightings..

One bear was seen on the Seymour/Derby line by the river. We just aren't bringing food outside
