I don't get it, as I'm inside with A/C, but I have been really tired for the past week. I don't know if it's me or if it also happens to others when it's hot out.

No, I feel just as fine. You should pay a visit to the doctor, just to be on the safe side.

YUP.. its normal and its possible its from the heat. I feel more drained in the summer than in the winter. I need that natural fresh clean air to recharge myself. A/C keeps us cool but the air is not natural or outdoors. I am ALWAYS more tired in the summer. Are you an active person like me? Dont worry, 2 more months of this crap and we can enjoy cool nights.

Hyperthermia: Your body temperature increases because heat exposure is beyond what you can compensate for. To counteract this, your body slows down, decreasing heat generated by muscle activity. If your body still can't cool down, your blood pressure will drop, making you feel tired.

My AC doesn't run for much during the summer because my apartment faces the north and only has two windows. My bed sheets are the exact same as during the winter (bedspread, down comforter, sheet) and I have no issue. And when the AC does turn on, it only stays on for about 15 minutes max. It works great. With that said, I love summer.

I think this summer has actually been pretty mild, we've only turned the AC on for two days so far. Of course everyone's heat/cold threshold is different, but I wouldn't automatically assume you are suffering from the heat, especially since you're inside with AC most of the time. Just watch your symptoms closely, and see if you develop any additional symptoms. We've had a stomach virus go through the family recently, and the first symptoms were a few days of lethargy.

IMO it has been a very average summer. Not too hot, not too cold. Summer of 2010 was extremely hot for months on end. Summer of 2009 was rather cold and struggled to go above 75 degrees, with frequent rain. But Summer of 2011 is just average IMO.

And probably going to continue that way nep......an "average" day today, then some hot weather Monday and Tuesday (with possible t-showers on Tues), then a bit of a cooldown actually for the rest of the week. I agree it's been a pretty "average" summer so far, warmer than 2009, cooler than 2010.

Agreed. I think alot of the discomfort & exaustion people experience once its warm out is because they dont let themselves get used to it. As soon as it hits 80, if not sooner, most people turn on the AC & spend alot of time indoors. Get out & enjoy it, let your body aclimate itself to the season & I think most people would feel better & likely be healthier. Of course if a person is frail or elderly then they NEED to take precautions, but for most of us its fine. I love the winters, but summer is a great time to be alive too!

I think in this case it was me. I did have some kind of sudden virus last weekend, which I attributed to eating a bad clam, and then felt tired this week; but it seems to be gone today and I'm finally feeling energetic and back to normal.

I do garden a lot and get tired after doing that in the sun, however. Today it's nice but it's been really hot where I live most days this week; high 80's and humid. I think sometimes in the hot weather, the air quality fluctuates and that can affect how we feel also.

Absolutely not the case for me. Been an electrician since 20 years old always working in homes without walls, windows, a/c, attics, and outside in heat and sun.
As a kid I was never inside. As an adult I'm still always outside doing activities, played roller hockey in summer for many years... Anything over 75 degrees is uncomfortable and exhausting.

I got a feeling Jay is going to move all these posts to the weather thread. lol

And yes...2010 was a record breaking warmest year. This year is average.. I'm doing some research on LaNina past few days to see what we can expect for fall and winter. this average summer was known since March. I did predict a hotter than average 2nd half of summer though.
