I agree, New Haven has come a long way. Hoping it still continues to improve.

I do suspect the OP meant New London though.

Default Thanks!

Thanks for all the helpful replies. Sorry Im just a little late. Im on Hawaii time. My husband plans on catching a train back and forth from New Haven to New London instead of driving. However, we are going to look into Waterford and Brandford. I haven't narrowed down a field in non profit yet. I've worked in health and entertainment along the lines of American Lung Association and an art museum. If I am considered for a job with Girl Scouts then most likely that is what I will be looking for when its time for us to move. The apartments that are from $1100-1500 for a 1 bdrm how big are they??? Living in hawaii everything is rather expensive for next to nothing. For instance, we pay $950 for 450 sq ft. I really don't mind the price but I would love to know how much room I am to expect for those prices. I would assume our range is from $1100 to about $1600. Maybe a little more depending on the place. I would love to more into the safer neighborhoods because children are not far in our future and well... Im sure you understand where I am going with that. If anyone has any more information on Waterford or Branford that would be excellent. All of your responses have been extremely helpful. Thanks again. -Nekita

You'll get much more than in Hawaii. $950 for 450 square feet is only going to happen in the Stamford area.

In New Haven I pay almost $1100 for a one-bedroom that takes up a whole floor of a three-story house. We pay for gas heat and hot water; electricity is included in the rent. You can get a pretty spacious two-bedroom for around 1400-1500 in East Rock, last I checked. I would expect that prices would be higher in neighborhoods with better schools, but since children are further away in my future than they seem to be in yours, I don't have any specific information yet.
