Not Saturday. Saturday is fine(before 8pm). Dont forget after the fact roads wil be impassable. Personnel might be short handed getting to debris in road. Floods wont receed right away.

I'd stick around there. There are worse places to be. PS: Hope you enjoyed St. John?
Our cruise changed the itinerary and we're supposed to go to STT on Saturday - but considering flying home instead.

I'm on about a 50' hill .5 mile from the coast. Do I need to do anything to my house to prepare other than getting everything that's loose outside inside?

LaGuardia in 1950 from a NorEaster. Notice the pressure it was in the subtitle.

You wont be in the Atlantic but flooding will be all around you most likely.

As far as boarding..Its personal preference...It Doesnt hurt from branches flying into it. I gotta assume windows can handle 70-80mph winds... I'm really not sure.

I wont be boarding my windows but I'll keep plywood handy inside incase I have to stop "some" of the rain from coming in.

Wave height to be 20+ feet East side of Long Island. Is that 10 feet near Milford?

Hi resolution Storm Surge Map… It's a PDF so it may take a minute to load, very high resolution though. You can zoom in and see what would be flooded in NY area.
