My neighbor 2 doors down has TWO motorcycles parked in front of their house on the street, aren't home, and apparently have no intention of moving them for the hurricane. What to do?

Couldn't it be considered a public safety issue to have something gas filled almost guaranteed to come launching down the street sometime in the next 24 hours?

Since they're not home, how do you know what they intend to do? The "bad stuff" isn't supposed to start in our area til tomorrow, and it's only mid-day today.

My advice to you, is to assume that they value their vehicles enough to get them off the street before nightfall. If it's 8pm and they haven't come home to move their bikes, call the police and ask them if there are any precautions you should take. If they haven't issued a parking ban, then there's nothing they can do about it.

I doubt very much the wind will do more than topple them, if it does that. I considered leaving my bike out since the shed I keep it in is several feet lower than my driveway. But for now I left it, if water starts coming inI'll move it.

Maybe they don't run and they are looking for insurance money.

I think a motorcycle is heavy enough that it will be OK (we're not talking Cat 4 or 5 here!).

But since OP you're in Mamaroneck, you'll be interested to know that starting midnight tonight Mt. Vernon is going to fine anyone it catches having garbage cans outside.......

They're already saying it's going to be downgraded to a tropical storm by the time it hits CT. I wouldn't worry about it.
