Does anyone know how I can find out how many motorcycles are registered with the DMV here in CT?

Call? Seeing how it is probably constantly changing, I dont think that there is really a published #, and if so it might be outdated. I belong to a CT sportbike forum and we have over 500 members on there each with at least 1 bike. Throw in all the people that dont know about the website, and then all the harley riders and you're probably looking at a pretty good amount. May I ask why you are interested in an exact number?

It has to do with all this waving motorcyclists do. If there are 20,000 bikes registered to use on CT's roads, IMHO that's too much waving. Hell, when I'm in my cage, I don't wave at every other cage, not even at every other Cherokee, not even if it's the same color as mine. I suppose two riders on bikes of the same make and model might want to acknowledge one another's good taste, but why are we waving at every bike we pass?
As it is now, I do the friendly thing and follow convention, to a point... if someone waves at me, I return it.
That's all. What do you think... too curmudgeonly?

lol well I think that riding a motorcycle is a hobby much moreso than driving your daily driving cage from work and to do errands. So in that respect its a common hobby amongst the motorcyclists even if there ARE 20,000 of us lol. Also the danger at hand on a motorcycle, even us who do obide by the laws, is much higher and therefore a bond is formed there. Lastly, it gives people an excuse to be nice and friendly which I rarely see now of days anywhere. Waving is just a nice gesture. If you make somebody smile or feel happy for a minute isnt that nice (not to sound cheezy). I know I grin a little on my sportbike when a HD rider gives me a wave, knowing he can see over that american vs *** (crap) barrier. As for waving with cages, I never waive at other Scion drivers now that I have a TC. However, when I had my evo, which is a much more rare car and more of a hobby than a daily driver, I would waive or give a nod to all Evo, STI, and even srt-4 drivers. Turbo and motorcycles enthusiasts gotta stick together to keep the hobby afloat.
