Yeah - I mostly worried about a ton of fallen trees and wires all over like the storm we had a couple of years ago at Easter and this one will be worse. I'd rather see what's going on from a distance. Thanks!!

Re: Van Zant Street - Try looking on the City of Norwalk web page, they should have information. Van Zant Street is very close to the water, my son has gone to the batting cage in E. Norwalk.

E. It will bring winds OVER 50 mph SUSTAINED.
F. It will knock down trees and branches and leaves everywhere making areas look like a war zone.
G. It will bring gusts OVER 70mph in some spots
H. It will bring surges of water into the coastline deteriorating the coast and flooding communities.

Thats it in a nutshell.

Oh... when you see and hear those winds sustained at 40-50mph, you will be saying OMG when the gust comes through at 70mph.

This is about what I think. I do want to note that 70mph winds are still very rare in this area and this storm has a bigger wind field than an "average" hurricane its size, so it will still be a memorable storm. You (hopefully, thankfully) won't see a lot of death and demolished structures but the extent of power outages and flooding will likely be like nothing in most people's memories.

I honestly have no idea. Nobody would know without knowing the area. Do you know your elevation? Is it flat there? Is there a river next to you? Poor drainage? I am pretty sure your fine from coastal flooding but who knows about flash flooding.

I think you'll be ok. I live around the corner from Van Zandt & if the water gets to you I'm screwed. I expect the Wells Fargo parking lot to be part of the mill pond & vets park will be underwater, but in 35+ years living in East Norwalk I'v never seen it even come close to Van Zandt, anythings possible but I wouldn't sweat it.

Wonder how beach neighborhoods are going to fare... Milford, Fairfield, Compo beaches will probably have issues, but higher areas like Tokeneke and parts of Rowayton and Riverside/OG might do better, no...at least by FFC standards?

3rd time I've read it. I have no idea. But I have a feeling there was a link somewhere in this thread with an altitude map link.

This thread proves one thing. No one really knows SH*T about hurricanes in the end, even with a P, H and D in your title.
