Lost power around 7am in West Hartford at my moms.

I came back to my apt in Torrington around dinner time and it's fine here. We have power, my semi basement apartment isn't flooded. Woohoo!

CT outage map looks pretty ugly. I submitted an outage claim online and they said power wouldn't be restored until Saturday.

I hope that's a really pushed out estimate.

Well, at least the propane generator is going strong. Sheesh!

Still no power in Monroe. On the positive side, the stars have never looked brighter, at least for as long as I've been here.

Bristol Farmington area as usual one of the better places to be if you like having power. I have no idea why (maybe its cause we are in valley) but this area (bristol) hardly ever loses power in storms.

So, apparently several homes basically washed away off their foundations in East Haven. Picture:

It appears the stretch of the coast from Milford to East Haven got it the worst? This makes sense only because it's the widest part of the sound, and I guess it got some particularly bad wind? Perfect timing on surge + tide?

What about other parts of the CT coast? I can only seem to find video/photos from Milford and East Haven.

Is it safe to say this is hardest those coastal areas have been hit since '38? A friend said he was here for Gloria and it wasn't nearly as bad on the coast.
