Hello, I just moved into a new apartment and trying to see what the electricity would be. The place is very new and has all efficiency appliances, lighting, heating / central air, etc.

- I work from home so I run my computer lets say 10 hours a day combined, from the morning + the night.

- 40 inch flat screen TV on occasionally throughout the day lets say 2-4 hours a day.

- Only have about 4 led lights that I only use at night.

- Central air that I keep on 70.

Based on that, does anyone have an idea how much my bill should be per month? I'm thinking not more than $150, but considering we live in the most expensive state in the US, I wouldn't be surprised!

What wattage is the power supply on your computer? I just read that a 500w power supply on a desktop can use like $30-$40 a month worth of electricity.

How many square feet?

Your bill should be in the low 100's in summer assuming your apartment is around 1000-1500 square feet.

If you have electric heat, it could go up to $300-$400 in the winter if it gets really cold. Electric heat is terrible.

I think it's gas heat.

What about 70 for the summer? I searched a bit and 70 seems pretty low compared to most people, although I do put it up to 78 before I leave.

Use an independent energy company. Our place is about 800 sq ft and we pay about $50/month with similar usage stats.
