Hi, everyone. I will soon be in Stamford for relocation of 1.5 years and the office is located in Stamford square (3001 summer street). I am considering renting an appartment near Stamford square. I don't want to share a large house with others so a high-rise appartment is preferred.

So my question is - what might be the lowest monthly rent for each of below situations (as for an appartment with 1 bed+1 bath or studio)?

(1) within 15 minutes walking distance to Stamford square;
(2) within 15 minutes driving distance to Stamford square; (I am not sure whether there is bad traffic jam in this area)

Besides, if I want to find an appartment in Stamford with around 1000$ per month, could you suggest any suitable areas?

Your advice is highly appreciated.
Thanks.

You can probably find a smaller, older studio for around $1000/month. Stay north of 95 and east of 137. Generally speaking, there's some less desirable neighborhoods otherwise and for that price point you might be in them.

You won't be getting into any high rises for that price, maybe $1200 for a small studio.

Keep in mind that doesn't include any utilities.

Get a realtor and go from there.

Thanks for your reply. According to your description, the area (north of 95 and east of 137) seems not quite desirable? Maybe I need to reconsider the budget plan so as to avoid such area.

I found a few studio of about $1200 per month near stamford square (eg. Cornerstone At Bedford Apartments, 1425-1435 Bedford Street Stamford, CT - Apartments for Rent on ApartmentGuide.com | Stamford Connecticut | 8941). Is it possible that I could not find any cheaper one near stamford square?

No, mkiv808 is advising you to confine your search to the areas north of I-95 and east of Route 137. These are the safer and more desirable areas. To the south of I-95 and west of Route 137 are generally less desirable. Jay
