They secured a bank loan, and ground breaking is supposed to take place soon in South Windsor.

This is the same company that is Albuquerque Studios which has been very successful and brought in more than 1.2 Billion to the ABQ economy.

CT Studios, LLC

Nice to see some private sector growth for a change that doesn't include the state handing out 100's of millions.

Nice. Need one in the New Haven area too. A lot of movies are already shot in New Haven, the surrounding area and Fairfield County.

Cool!

Hm, lets see, does this means that South Windsor will become South Windsorwood?

And eventually Farmington Valley will be like San Fernando Valley, where they film movies there too - just mostly for the raincoat-wearing crowd, if ya know what I mean.

You guys think this will help attract population to the area and buy/build new homes or will it mostly be people coming in from out of town for a few days to shoot?

It seems to have had a pretty decent impact in New Mexico. Only the "kings and queens" would be flying in and out IMO. The meat of it is all the behind the scenes work that goes on.

I bet it would in the southwest (and to a lesser extent Litchfield county) part of the state since it's already a hotbed for celebrities and movie types to have that retreat from LA.

Wow, looks pretty cool. I live in East Windsor/Broad Brook and maybe I'll finally get around to investigating voice-over work.
