It's not even about the traffic. Having to commute over an hour each way has a big impact on quality of life with or without traffic.

Well yes, but they could move to, say, Milford area and have a 25-35 minute commute to Westport, and 40-45 minute commute to Wethersfield. Easy.

You aren't getting to the 1st Fairfield exit(46) in 35 minutes most mornings from Milford, let alone Westport.

I'm sorry, i have to call bulls*it on your projection. It just isn't accurate.

I've done it every morning for 3 years. If there is traffic, I take backroads into Westport. I'm at the office in the absolute worst traffic in 40-45 minutes, and my office is almost in Norwalk on Route 1. The worst traffic I've ever seen lurched a bit into Stratford, but that is RARE. Usually starts between the rest spot and the "no exit zone". On REALLY bad days it goes into Trumbull up to the mall exit, and that's going to be a solid 45 minute commute for me. I pay close attention to my travel times every morning. I'd say low 30's is average.

This morning there was a little traffic in the "no exit zone" and I was delayed about 5 minutes total. Got to work in just a tad over 30 minutes.

2 coworkers make almost the same exact commute and have the same experiences.

It's nothing. I would dread a Stamford commute though by car.
