It's funny- for all the ****/grief central and northern ct posters give Ffc about being "self absorbed" NYers, Sandy has proven otherwise. Despite long lines at gas station, major power outages, terrible traffic and significant damage to many homes- folks are dealing without incident. Very smooth at gas stations, patient drivers and people are expressing appreciation for the few open stores and buildings. Te diametric opposite of Ny/Long Island Island and Nj. Hopefully this helps to dispel the myth. It's imperial evidence after all.

I guess the fights breaking out at gas stations across the tri-state is selfless and kind? This includes southern Connecticut, according to Stamford and Norwalk PDs.

Well gee, if I turn left or right out of my road right now, there's a tree still blocking the road, every telephone pole is pulled off its center and cable/power is out for a while. I'm ok though, on a standby generator. I do with I had a verizon 4g access point though! Might have to investigate that if this nor-easter is a possibility

The United Illuminating Co. reported October 31 is continuing restoration work and damage assessments of its electrical infrastructure.

Connecticut Light and Power (CL&P) reported October 31 that it has 5,000 workers responding to damage from Hurricane Sandy. Groups of employees are working to complete damage assessments and line workers are responding to emergencies, restoring power to town-identified critical customers, such as water treatment plants, police and fire stations and shelter locations.

Don't get all nervous about storm next week, will be your typical nor'easter if it materializes but please don't get worried it will be nothing like we just experienced. Just a real nasty day, that's all, but will mess up recovery etc for those areas along the coast hardest hit, no storm surge, tropical storm winds with this event.
