All of Fairfield is safe. There are some sections that are less desirable (and thus less expensive) than others but overall it is a great town to live in. Remember that you do have to be careful with neighborhoods in both Stamford and Norwalk. These are cities with some good areas and some bad ones. Before making a move I would ask people here for their opinion. I cannot comment on Danbury but I think all of Bethel is good. Jay

Mostly all of Danbury is safe. The areas in Danbury that aren't the best for living, but I wouldn't call "dangerous", are inside the blue circle below:

Fairfield and Danbury/Bethel are VERY different areas. If you like going out to dinner and activity and whatnot, Fairfield hands down.

Bethel is nice but I have a REAL hard time recommending Danbury to a young couple. It's just... blah. Unless you like staying in you may get very bored.

Default Thanks.

Hi all,

I just wanted to post a quick update. After 3 exhausting days of touring Norwalk, Fairfield, and Danbury/Bethel with real estate agents I found a great place to rent in Norwalk. It wasn't easy - I looked at a lot of places and in our price range there just wasn't much that I was satisfied with.

Overall though it was a success! Thanks again for all the help!
