Make the trip to West Farms it's worth it. And then take a nice Saturday ride once in awhile to White Plains.
These three malls are all owned by Westfield. They cater to the lowest level shoppers. At one time these malls were more upscale with quality stores but now they are not that great or interesting. sad really. Jay

It is not as crazy as Route 1 but Route 5 in Walingford gets a good amount of traffic. Most of it is destination traffic which means it is just traffic from the stores there themselves. There is not much through traffic so it is not as busy. Still it is pretty busy. Jay

What? I find the exact opposite. Westfarms is one of the nicest most upscale malls in the state. If anything it has improved over the last 10 years. Milford is a typical Westfield crap mall. Not much of interest and a lot of junky stores. That does not interest me but then again I am not much of a mall shopper. JMHO Jay

Yeah, but parking at Westfarms is a freaking nightmare. As is the road that parallels it (New Britain Ave?)...that intersection with Route 9 and the lights every 100 feet make that mall a must-avoid for me. It's unfortunate that the only Trader Joe's and Apple Store within 50 miles is located there.

I've never had problems parking there, and I used to go all the time when I lived next door in Newington and fairly frequently when I lived in Avon. The traffic can be bad at that light across from the JC Penney end of the mall near where Borders used to be, but I've frequently seen worse at Buckland Hills in Manchester - getting up and down Buckland Hills Drive where Target & Wal-Mart are located can be a nightmare.

Parking isn't a problem as long as you avoid the area by the front entrance near Brio/PF Chang's. I never have issues parking behind Macy's or out by Nordstrom.

Yeah, to each their own, I guess Like a PP said- I find Westfarms loud and crowded. The parking stinks. The access is ok, because I approach from behind, but I agree that the road in front of the mall can be an absolute nightmare, especially if you're coming from route 9.

If you take the mall exit off of I84, then turn right, drive past Wendy's and park by Macy's it isn't as bad.

Trader Joe's can be easily accessed by the I84 exit- it practically dumps you in their parking lot... but once again, the actual parking sucks.

I hate malls. That may be why I prefer Milford, or even better, Enfield.
