A lake view will be nice in Brookfield. We have a range in mind, so depending on the final location we settle on, it can varies.

Well that changes things then. In CT, waterfront is very desired and worth spending a premium for for resale purposes.

I think there are differences between waterfront vs water view, either one would be very nice. Not our top priority but nice to have if it is within our range.

Good to know! Water view is easier to have in our range. Thanks!

Since we are on this subject, would you say an in ground swimming pool is a plus or deterrent for resale purposes? Considering all the maintenance and running costs....

Pools can be tough, depends on the buyer. Maybe someone else with pool experience can help.

Because ESL and special education students' standardized test scores are also part of the school overall standardized test scores as well. Inevitably, schools with very diverse student body (e.g Danbury) will definitely produce lower standardized test scores than lets say schools with 95% populations (e.g. Ridgefield) with common backgrounds. In those situations, Danbury school standardized test scores are not a good representation or reflection of how well the typical developing and English speaking students are actually doing.

LOL ... very diverse student body and common backgrounds ... now that is what I call being politically correct

No way. Plenty of 600-800k homes in Brookfield. Far from overspending. 700k gets you a nice modern 4-5BR in Brookfield, not at all excessive

Agree. We live in a neighboring town and our house cost $595k. Four bedroom and a nice size, but not super updated. But it's in a very nice neighborhood and it's a great piece of property, which were two of our top priorities when we were house shopping (we came from one on a main road and with a crappy piece of land). Yes, this area is definitely affordable compared to lower fairfield county, but it's not across the board cheap like a lot of people think it is. You can buy a very livable and comfortable home for a lot less, but it would be in a different type of neighborhood (I.e. more rural -- or not even in a neighborhood at all), far from town, or the house will be either up a hill, or down a ditch - like our last one was (it's very hilly in my town). Or you can buy for a lot more like many other people do.
