Malloy told the taxpayers that ct would have such a huge surplus that everyone would be getting a $55 check. Currently, ct is something like $200m short and the checks got canceled.

I thought it was a silly vote-buying gimmick 2 months ago. And reneging on it now makes him look like he's totally out of touch with the state of our state's fiscal health and a total idiot. Who's in charge here...

Correct. "Going" being the key word. In reality, the OFA announced today that revenue on tax receipts will fall $357m SHORT of budgeted projections. CT is screwed. As a radio station caller said a couple weeks ago.."CT has been dead for a long time, Malloy just put the toe tag on it." 2015-2016 CT budget will include a tax increase, it doesn't matter who gets in office, a tax increase is going to happen.
