Last I noticed customers for Bobs and Wine Store were using this lot Especially around the holidays.

I know of and see an infinite amount of locations to build on, flat and even around busy areas, but no, inside a parking lot is better

Norwalk becoming next Stamford

What's wrong with that?

You kind of forget, in a free market society people are allowed to build what they want, where they want, as long as what they build conforms to the zoning and building laws. Would you like it if someone said you could not use your property? I don't think so but that is what you are saying. I am sure this building will have parking that could be used by others if they are allowed to. Jay

Imagine that, building a business on a commercial street where people go to spend money. Who would've thunk it.

If you look on Google Maps you can see this parking lot is not frequently used over many months/years. Location seems great for retail, do we know what they are building here?

You mean a still image provides a look at each day in history? Or does Google maps have a history of every hour, every day where we can see how much it was used?

No, don't know what's going there but it's apparent it wasn't just an "empty lot". It was a parking lot with Lines on it. This looks like late morning judging by Stop & Shop not having a lot of customers. Wine store does more business in the evenings.

Lets stuff as many buildings as we can in one lot.

I'm specifically talking about the location, you're talking about right and wrong?

Do this.. Use Google Maps, if you can't find another spot without using a parking lot where there is already retail stores there, then you're not looking hard enough. Lots of trees and space around. Look for it or drive around the area.

And don't forget.. They put a starbucks in a tire company parking lot which WAS being used by customers. Just look at that. Lets cram everything like it's a puzzle.

While 7 reference points over the past 8 years is by no means a thorough analysis of usage, I think it at least suggests that this isn't what one would consider a very busy parking lot.

Am I missing something?

Is there seriously a shortage of parking in strip malls in Norwalk?

LOL.

That part of the parking lot is dead space and always empty, repeat - ALWAYS empty, save for a few cars people leave parked there with For Sale signs.

As far as the recently new Starbucks on Conn Ave. - What were they thinking in putting up a Starbucks on a commercial road where people go to spend money where there were previously no other Starbucks in the immediate area!! Making money and profits? what a dumb idea!

I just looked at this again and that location is part of a large shopping center. That is an out parcel which likely was approved to have a building when the center was originally approved. The owner just paved the area until someone wanted to build there. Again if is allowed under zoning, the owner has every right to build there. You may not agree with it but sorry that is not your decision. Jay
