I know where I live in Virginia UVA kinda helps Charlottesville economy wise, it's pretty decent here, especially if you have a skilled trade or degree in certain fields like Nursing and such, UVA is looking to hire more nurses actually.
I don't think any city in Connecticut is worth visiting. I live right near most of them and never go. I surely wouldn't travel to see them.

But there is a lot of beauty in Connecticut, on the shore, in the small towns and in the rural areas.

I have a love/hate relationship with New Haven, but I do think downtown New Haven can be pretty impressive. Great restaurants and nightlife for a city its size.

Is CT the only forum that posts these BS rankings? I have been to every state forum at least once, and they don't ***** about their home state. The only crap posts I ever see are about crime and traffic on the other forums, but they don't turn it into a 50 page thread. Just an observation here.
