Yes, it is true that Stratford (pop. 51,384) and East Hartford (pop. 51,242) are technically not cities, but Milford (pop. 51,271) technically is. Does it really matter when say Stratford is worse off than Milford in crime? Sure, the town of Stratford has more people than the city of Milford, but Stamford also has more than two times the amount of people than Stratford and yet Stamford is much safer than all three of them, including the town that has more people than a city.

At the end of the day, people should make their decisions based on risks levels. A person in Stratford is at much greater risk of being the victim of a crime than someone in Stamford. This forum serves to orient people where they should live, so people that are risk-averse concerning crime should know this type of information.

A person may feel good that they live in the town of Stratford instead of the city of Stamford with them never knowing that they are actually at a higher risk of facing crime in that town than in the city whether its much larger Stamford or much smaller Milford.

A "victim" of a petty crime? Certainly more likely in Stratford than in Stamford.

A victim of VIOLENT CRIME? I wonder which place offers the best odds?

Research it and report back to us, Antonio. Inquiring minds want to know.

I didn't know that rape, arson, auto theft, burglaries are "petty crime." News to me!

Add to that a higher risk of getting cancer and who knows what other ailments from the toxicity of the land, possibly lessening the life expectancy.

Yes, arson is more common in Stamford. Arson cited in Stamford car blaze - StamfordAdvocate

That's not surprising to me having lived in Danbury.

The list seems very suspect though. That A+ on amenities seems to be easily given out. Bristol? Really?

And the population numbers are outdated. Also, some weird stuff I noticed like Stamford having a better crime ranking than Milford, despite they being almost identical in reality.
