Media is reporting UConn is hoping to avoid boycotting 2016 Final 4 in Indianapolis. Geno needs to get with ND's McGraw and announce a 2016 Indy boycott during this year's event in Tampa. That would set the wheels in motion for pro leagues and men's tourneys to follow.

They would need to privately work with the NCAA to make that move.

All it would take is Geno & McGraw. W/O them, this tournament has no drawing power. Both UConn & ND add thousands to opponents home attendance when they visit. Same with the tournament. I was at Nashville's Final 4; UConn had by far the most fans, ND a respectable amount; Stanford & Maryland sections were nowhere near that size.

I don't fully comprehend what you're proposing. What if the other schools don't follow suit? UConn and ND just unexpectedly deny their players the opportunity of playing for the national title? Why would a student come to UConn in the future if they don't know if the school will deny them the opportunity of playing for titles in order to make a social statement? I do understand the impact you're saying this would have. But at the end of the day this is a business and both schools and all schools for the most part understand where they fit within that universe. I just don't see schools going rogue like that without coordinating with the greater universe that is the NCAA. I don't see what you're proposing happening just from me thinking about the impacts on the business end. I could see the schools first organizing in private and then petitioning the NCAA to throw their weight around a bit.

If the other schools did not follow, it would render the 2016 Final 4 meaningless, or of the same stature as NFL replacement player records. For that reason, if these 2 schools took this action, the NCAA would move the 2016 Final 4, and both UConn & ND would be there. There is no need for a greater universe when dealing with the 2 giants of NCAA Women's Basketball.
