Maybe I might be wrong, but I guess this:

Connecticut = Connect + Cut,

right?

if incorrect, what is the origin of CT state name?

Means either "the long tidal river" or "land near river."

And many pronounce it "con ed I cut" or "con ed I kit"

Connecticut is from the Native American word "quinnitukqut" which means "besides the long tidal river". Connecticut was once home to roughly 6,000-7,000 Native Americans before Dutch fur traders arrived here in the early 1600's.

Where are the GOP sore loser rednecks posting "Connecticut means 'tax them and take away their guns'?"

and you know what's funny? I called them Native Americans yet people call them Indians. We called them Indians by an accident and we still call them that. We never corrected it. They aren't Indians! Anyways got off topic but it is sad we killed so many. For no reason whatsoever. How evil is it to kill them on their own land? Imagine someone walking up to your house, killing you, take everything, tear down your house, and build a colony. I'd be pretty mad.

We can call them Indians after India or Native Americans after a Florentian named Vespucci - neither one is what they call themselves, and I am not sure how one is more correct or incorrect than the other.
