I was hoping to gain the wisdom of this forum that I've been following for some time. We are looking to move to CT, specifically the Ridgefield area (we have a young family so schools and community are important)

With this move we need to change jobs. Searching job postings is so daunting especially since many jobs are posted by recruiters so the company is not known.

What's the best way to find companies within reasonable commuting distance from ridgefield? (Professional/management job for mid career). Is there a good resource you would recommend?

Management in what field? Tech? Retail? Hospitality? There isn't much of a market for nonspecialized managers.

Thanks, I find that those sites have a number of posts from recruiters where they don't mention the company name they are recruiting for. So wanted to see how I can learn about the what companies are in the area.

Not too interested in the insurance field (I know there are so many insurance companies in Hartford ) or healthcare but otherwise I am open to different industries (consumer products, technology products, financial products, corporate retail, b2b, b2c, etc). I am trying not to limit myself too much to the type of industry as I'm more concerned about the type of company/culture. It would be great to find an forward thinking, innovative company that is focused on investing in their own growth (not all companies are!).

How does one go about finding companies in the area?

boehringer ingelheim is a big company in Ridgefield. The global HQ is in Germany, but US Headquarters is in Ridgefield with over 3,000 employees.

Danbury is right next door and should have plenty of opportunities.

Ridgefield has great proximity to Danbury, Norwalk, and Stamford where plenty of companies reside. It's just difficult for us to help you from there when we don't quite know what your looking for. Your question is pretty broad and I do agree with the others that the only way to see what companies you like here are to check out the job boards. One of my favorite job board is LinkedIn. If you see a position you might like, then do the homework on the organisation. You can also always ask on here and someone may know a thing or two about em.
