I went to the hockey game on Saturday and it was packed. Baseball is a dying sport anyways and MLB isn't really interested in expanding. It's tough for CT to get a sports franchise because we're stuck between Boston and NYC. The northeastern market is over saturated with 5 major sport cities within 3 hours of CT. If CT was isolated from other markets then we would most likely have a team.

NHL prereq would most likely be 80% capacity season tickets months in advance. In Nashville, we needed and got 12,000 season tickets sold year prior to puck dropping. Not impossible, but far higher bar than Whalers faced.

well the stadium in nb was found to be trashed recently things were done to it lots of damage was done. during the investigation it was found that whoever did this was not off the streets as the stuff that was damaged and missing was due to someone from the inside only knowing where this stuff was..

they have not released any more info yet but if it turns out to be that the yard goats did it they are going to owe the city of nb lots of money for damages

But the Mayor did not present proof that the Rock Cats did this damage. The Mayor said it was about $8,000 in damages which is really not a lot. Again proof is needed before blame is laid. Today's Courant has an Editorial questioning the Mayor's motives so the Mayor's public statements are coming back to haunt her. She should have kept her mouth shut until she had something real to complain about. Jay
