Never taken advantage of the Norwalk resident/beach pass. Can someone explain to me how this works?

I realize we can now register/sign up for it online as long as your car is on the town's list as of a certain date. Is there any cost for this?

Once I have the pass, does it let you get in and park at town parks for free? Or does it simply allow you to get in but you still have to pay some type of entrance fee?

Thanks!

If its similar to Stamford's, it will cost $20-something and allows you to park at any of beaches free of charge during the summer season.

Really? They make you pay? Milford's is 100% free, just show proof of residency. It's assumed that it's covered in property tax.

No, you don't pay for the pass in Norwalk. It's just a piece of paper, that gets printed out, with your license plate on it. You can only use it for that specific car. I keep mine in my glove compartment. Additionally, it's for the dump and parks, as well.

It's free, yes. Keep the piece of paper in your car, and show whoever is standing at the entrance booth at the beach. Sometimes they come out and scrutinize it, and sometimes they just wave you through after seeing it. It helps to put it in a clear protective envelope if you plan on using it alot, since it is just a piece of paper.
