I will be commuting from Glastonburg to Stamford during August this year to about March of next year. It is for a contract work, the commute will be thrice a week. Any thoughts on possible routes?

Is your work in the northern or southern part of Stamford? What hours do you work.

wow, that's a brutal commute by car. I'd take the train to New Haven and then train to Stamford - if that is feasible.

Its in the southern part of Stamford. I can leave early to avoid rush hour traffic.

I would not take the Milford Connector. I would stay on 15 to Route 8 and then get on I-95.

I agree that is going to be a tough commute. It is bad enough going from Fairfield to Stamford, let alone all the way from Glastonbury. I agree you might want to look at train options. You could drive to New Haven or even one of the stations nearby like West Haven or Fairfield Metro Center. That would save you some sanity. I have a friend in Glastonbury that commutes to Stamford every day (yes, he is nuts) and that is what he does (out of New Haven). Jay

If you look at a map, using the Milford Connector kind of causes you to backtrack. At the Connector, you are only a couple of miles on Route 15 from Route 8 which continues southwest more toward Stamford before connecting to I-95. The Connector takes you more east when you really want to be heading west. Jay

Is Amtrak the only train option?

So Glastonbury to Union Station (New Haven) is about 50 mins of drive. Then park there (is there parking at the station?) and take Amtrak to get to Stamford which is another 50 or so mins. Then need to figure out how to ride to work.!

Google maps shows 1 hour 25 mins of drive. What if I leave early enough to beat the traffic? When does traffic get busy? On the face of it, the drive looks more convenient as you get in drive and get out.
