You have to be a member of a photo website like Flickr or Photobucket. I use Photobucket (I find it easier) but they're both free.

On Photobucket, once your a member you can upload any photo from your computer or a disk. After the photo upload, you will see four codes: Email & IM, Direct Link, HTML Code and IMG Code. You will copy the IMG Code into your post here on CD.

Actually, yes, an outside hosting site is one way to post pictures but we can also use this site (City-Data forums) to host the photos by using the "attachment" feature.

If you need the step-by-step procedure, I've posted it in the FAQ:

I'm willing to walk anybody through it if my directions are too difficult to understand.
