This is interesting but some it is flawed. The time bar denotes that Fairfield Metro is in an urban area where single-family homes do not dominate the real estate market. I would argue that. I also question why they did not include Greenwich in this. That too would be interesting to see. Heck, it would be interesting to see Westchester as well. Jay

Interesting, but the times are not accurate (longer than reality in most cases) which makes the whole thing moot. I think they are going by just a local train that makes several stops and not express trains.

Answer
Not having to commute to NY or Stamford everyday = priceless

Pretty much worthless.

NH Line commuters are vastly intra-state, not interstate (less than 5% of train riders, less than 1% of total working population arrive in Manhattan on any given day). Which means the "price per minute" shoots up by almost double (the MSA's average commute time is 28mins one way). Might as well have the price per minute to commute into Hartford and make a graphic about that.

What does this mean? Less than 5% of train riders are going from one stop in Connecticut to another? 1% arrive in Manhattan? Can you clarify please?

He's saying 5% commute into Manhattan and 95% commute from stop to stop within CT.

That's not right. There'd be nobody left on the train when you reach Manhattan.

Agreed, that can't be accurate. The express from Stamford is standing room only once you reach Grand Central.
